Hibiscus Ice Cubes

Hibiscus Ice Cubes

These crimson cubes are sour showstoppers in any drink glass. Use them to cool water or adorn cocktails and mocktails. Consider adding them to simple syrup, tequila and fresh lime juice for a hibiscus margarita.

*1 quart (960 ml) of water

*2 tablespoons (30 ml) hibiscus flowers (dried calyces of Hibiscus sabdariffa)

Yield: Fills about 2 average ice cube trays

Bring the water to a boil and add the hibiscus. Let sit for twenty minutes and strain. Let the tea cool before adding to ice cube trays.
